I love colorful things, bright colours are a part of my identity being a Tsonga girl and all. However I do believe that dark colours are also beautiful in and tend to stand out too if used well. I've recently developed this obsession for darker and more natural colours when it comes to lipsticks. I believe I am not the only one, I mean I've seen celebrities who rock it too. Celebrities have been wearing naturally dark lipstick colours for decades and well women like Rihanna keep the trend alive and on point.

Black has always been seen as a dark color, often associated with evil however the color always stands out. As much as these kind of colors are unusual they stand out a lot, they attract a lot of attention.

The attention may be both good and bad but if something gets you attention then you've made a fashion statement.Warm natural colors like blue and Green are good colors for this winter season, not that bright and not dark either.

I believe colour is all that matters, whether it be lipstick color or the color of your clothes or hair it always should earn you the attention you need. whatever you do that has to do with your look should turn heads and should not be something that people are used to. Before we do all that let us start by addressing some issues that affect every single person we know; skin color, how comfortable are you in your natural born with color? When we talk about color as African women or people I feel like it is a sensitive issue to address especially now with so many of us bleaching ourselves so we can look brighter because we were somehow brainwashed to believe that our natural color is ugly.

Skin bleaching is not something one can do to look prettier it is more of a psychological issue, where a person is not satisfied with the color God gave them. We not judging but with summer temperatures a bleached skin suffers I am sure we have all seen how people turn purple in the sun and how bad their skin reacts to heat. 

Let me tell all the young people out there with dark skin and natural light skin you both are beautiful, you do not need more or less color to look pretty. You are beautiful with your freckles and scars, and this summer flaunt your beauty. It is not man-made but made by God and your skin color is in style and it never goes out of style.

Not that people who prefer Make-up and hair or nail extensions are fake, they look beautiful in that cause they feel comfortable in it. To be honest that is all that matters, you being comfortable in whatever look you are rocking at that particular moment.

Just because a girl likes weaves and make up it does not mean she does appreciate her natural look, or hair. Some people like flipping some hair every once in a while or all that time, it really has nothing to do with being fake its all about comfort. Now lets talk Make-up, as long as you know how to wear it then all is well. Ladies Make-up is for all of us, but please do ask for professional help when buying these kind of things. Your head is the most important part of each and every individual, your look starts there. It does not matter whether you are a man or a woman but when people look at you they start at the head, if your hair looks bad then your outfit does not really matter at all in my opinion. So if you are going to cover your hair with a cloth it matters how you do it, whether you have the Nigerian Gele on or a simple doek it matters how you tie it. It needs to look good so that you can look good too.

I don’t know about most people but where I come from wrapping your head with a cloth symbolizes a lot, for starters it’s a sign of respect especially if you are a married woman. Covering your head is also done for health purposes and well for other women it is a fashion accessory they cannot live without. A head wrapper is worn in most African cultures if not all; it looks great on almost everyone. The best thing about it is that it has gone from just being a traditional accessory to being a fashion trend. Celebrities wear it and we have seen it on the runway many times.

A head wrapper may be an add-on for fashion designers and stylists every once in a while but here in Africa it is very important, some woman cannot leave the house without wearing it. The best thing about it is that it can fit in everything, depending on its size. It does not matter what kind of hair you have, you can tie it and make a bun at the back or front. Now what I love the most about head wrappers is their colors, tribal prints and the texture. They are usually very colorful and go with almost everything you wear.

Dear lazy young woman you do not need a fancy weave and all the material things your peers have, you do not need all the attention and promises he is feeding you. Stop putting money before your dignity, just because you do not have money does not mean you now have to lie on your back to get by. Being a gold digger may pay bills for a few years or months but has it ever crossed your mind that there are many like you? he may bless you today but tomorrow he will be blessing someone younger and prettier, then what will happen to you?

Let me tell you something, a real woman works hard to put food on the table and clothes on her back. Go to school, stay there and when you done then start complaining about struggling to get job. Your body is a temple; if you respect it everyone will do the same.

The Color Red

The most powerful color in the entire universe

Many people call red the color of love and others call it the color that represents danger, I call it the color of life. Have you ever realized how the color just seems to give life to almost everything, there is just something about this color I swear. Red looks good on everyone by the way, it is that one color you can never go wrong with maybe it’s due to the fact that our blood is red. Red symbolizes elegance, quality and originality; yes it is worn by many but one cannot help it but feel original in it like I said maybe it’s due to the fact that our blood is red.

There is something about red clothing that says hold your head up high; it just brings about this superiority. Red is powerful I think that is why Christian Louboutin chose it for their shoe soles, now many women know what I am talking about. The best thing about red is that it goes with everything; you can wear it with almost any color you want to wear it with. Here are a few red items I love and feel like every girl should have one.

1.   Rihanna’s red hair

 

Many people have tried red hair and failed, but Riri did it well and many women especially black women started trying it and yes it worked for some and did not work for others. I say red hair is gorgeous, and if you feel like it would look good on you like it did on Riri then for it.

Red lipstick is very attractive trust me, but then again just like red hair it can be very tricky you need to know how to apply it and you need to know which brand is the best.

3.Little red dress
 

  Now there is no outfit in the world that can beat a LRD, especially one that hugs the right places in your body. Do not show too much, you do not need to try too hard to be sexy in red because the color itself is sexy.

4.  Red high heels or black heels with a red sole

People usually start at the feet when looking at you, so why not wear shoes that will keep them at your feet. Red shoes can turn a master into a slave by just looking at you once.

If you did not like the color red, I hope you do now. Red is not a very submissive color, there is no way you cannot be seen in it. There is nothing dangerous about the color besides its confidence.

THE PERFECT AUTUMN LOOK

If there is anything I know about autumn is that you need to be comfortable because the weather can be quite temperamental, you need to have the perfect outfit, hair and make-up. I know that picking the perfect outfit can be quite tricky because you have no idea which colours would work and well if you live in joburg it is worse, the weather changes abruptly it can change up to three times a day. Now that is just not cool and it can really ruin a girl’s day, but don’t worry because I have a couple of tips that might work just for you.

First things first: The hair



A woman’s hair is her crown it does not matter whether its natural hair, a weave, wig or braids it means a lot to her, the way her hair looks says a lot about her. If a woman’s hair looks good, she feels good. The perfect colours for hair in autumn are brown, blonde and ombre because these colours can seriously get away with hiding dust; funny but true.


 Secondly: The make-up

Now for many women make-up plays a major role in their entire look, they apply eye shadow that matches the colour of their clothes or lips and well for other women make up does not really matter at all. Some only apply lipstick and some only apply eyeliner, it does not matter how much you put on what matters is how comfortable you are in it. The perfect lipstick colours are burgundy and deep red-violet hue, keep your lips as dark as you can.



Do not apply way too much eye shadow but go as bright as you possibly can, a little gold, yellow or orange can easily blend in with your skin the only thing that can be a little bold is your eyeliner.




Lastly: The outfits

 Autumn is
quite windy so bright colours are a no-no, the perfect autumn look is woolly sweaters, skinny jeans or jeggings, sneakers, flats and boots. The best thing about autumn is that it is not that cold so you can get away with wearing your short skirts or dress with boots; you can choose to wear with or without stockings. The perfect jackets are leather jackets preferably with a light scarf.
